Note from Jen:

This is a space for the girls to exercise their literacy skills. When we correct children during their early literacy acquisition, it can potentially disrupt learning. Focusing on spelling, grammar, and mechanics can slow down the heavy-duty thinking that goes into writing. Now, my clever girls have figured out how to use spell-check, and I let them. Revision has its place, and we will work on revision, but the core intent of their blogs is to capture their thoughts. And so, for their blog posts, I do not correct their mechanics. All mistakes are their own and are intentionally left as is. As for content, I give them prompts and let them go. I do not guide them or coach their answers. They also work together to title their own blog posts.

Today’s prompt: Talk about our upcoming trip. How are you feeling about it?

HELLO WORLD! my name is Eva. we are going on a year-long trip with a RV, and I am mostly excited because we are going to Disneyworld and national parks. One thing I am really excited for is ALL the camping. I will be home-schooled and my mom will be my teacher, and I think that will be super cool!

I will sleep in a loft and it has a lot of room. It is just so cool that we are doing this! But I will miss my friends. ☺️!!

Hola! This is aela. I am just sooooooooooo excited! I have never been on a year-long trip! EVER! I am sharing a loft with Eva/my sis. I am really happy that my mom gets to be my teacher. I am afraid of the poop-cone. I do not want to be the one to clean it out “he he” Also I am afraid of being on the road, cuz carrying that big RV has a bigger chance of having a car crash! But I try to put that behind! So beside all of the bad things I think I am ok! How about you? 😃

Improving your reading efficiency often starts with knowing your current pace. A ReadingSpeedTest online can quickly measure your average words-per-minute (WPM) and comprehension. This baseline helps you track progress as you work on reading faster and more effectively.

I hope you enjoy your year of travels as a family! Some of my favorite childhood memories are camping with my family. Yellowstone national park, and Glacier national park are my favorites. I'm excited to read updates on your adventures!
